Glossary
There are different types of dolls but it basically depends on the type of body you use but all of them are pixel art.Pixel Art • Digital art drawn pixel by pixel. Drawing with a pixel tool (we used to call this oekaki back in the day) does not make it a pixel art if you do not work on it pixel by pixel.
Adoptables • The dolls are tagged adoptable when you can display them on your website, use as avatars etc. If not tagged, you should check if the artist is ok with it.
Dollz • That's how Dolls was spelled when The Doll Palace was created. Probably with an Z to differ from the physical doll word. The Z got replaced with an S after some time.
The Palace • It was a social game where you could chose (or customize, not sure) your avatar and walk around different maps to chat with people online.
Base • A "naked" body used to make dolls.
Dolls • It's basically like dressing a doll - you add hair, clothes, edit face features etc. You can even edit parts of the base/pose to your liking.
Prep • A type of body for dolls. It's kind of small and they all have the same head base too.
Baseless • A doll which the artist did not use any base.
Candymaker Doll • Or just Candy Doll. They were an specific type of doll made on a bigger base in the dollmaker of a website called eLouai.
